‘intelyapelyape’ butterfly – Sally Kentaltja

$599

In the old days, our ancestors spent time watching the butterflys. They would watch the butteflys from when they were eggs, caterpillars and larvae and finally butterflys. Then the cycle would start again. The people loved to watch this and spent much time watching the butterflys and their cycle of life. Some times they would find a butterfly that was missing a wing or near the end of it’s life. They would feel sad that such a beautiful thing would end up that way, but they knew that the cycle would continue with the laying of eggs and the growth of the butterfly through it’s stages. This painting represents the spirits of the butterflys and the ancestors standing on the land watching.
