This painting is about grandmothers who taught granddaughters how to dance. Before, girls used to just go out hunting – they didn’t know about dancing – until an old women decided to teach them how to dance. She showed them how to move their body; it felt like the wind moving their body around as they started to get to know how to dance. Then they could dance in front of everyone and feel unashamed.
